The staff is amazing, the owner came and sat down with us we talked. Such a pleasant evening and service. We will be going here from now on when we want to eat the best Greek food in town!
anne kissel August 1 I’m a 1st-timer but I’m definitely returning! I’m Greek, and the Moussaka was right on authentic! The grape leaves were plump and delicious, and the Staff and owner were welcoming. I almost felt like I was back in Greece again! I want to return for a bellydance Friday! If you like Greek 🇬🇷 food, Athens Cafe is a definite must!

Athens Cafe offers generous hospitality, Greek classics
I’ve been in Jacksonville nearly 20 years and until recently, had not eaten at Athens Café. After sampling the food at Children’s Home Society “Caring Chefs” charity event, I added it to my list. Come to find out the family-run eatery on St. Augustine Road has been a Jacksonville mainstay for 23 years. We were told to try the flaming cheese — saganaki flambé ($8). Served tableside, our eyes and mouths were agape as our waitress doused freshly squeezed lemon atop our cheese and lit the entire tray on fire. Served with warm slabs of bread, the cheese was thicker than halloumi and deliciously swimming in a buttery sauce.
